Resumo
A relação entre insuficiência cardíaca e a infecção pelo vírus SARS-CoV-2 é um tema bastante relevante e tem sido amplamente estudada desde o início da pandemia. A COVID-19 tem mostrado impactos significativos no sistema cardiovascular, especialmente em pacientes com insuficiência cardíaca preexistente. A Insuficiência Cardíaca é uma síndrome clínica complexa de caratér sistêmico, de evolução progressiva, caracterizada pela dificuldade do músculo cardíaco em manter o débito circulatório adequado para o funcionamento do organismo. Pode resultar em incontáveis complicações e o acompanhamento e a terapêutica adequada colaboram para minimizá-las. A lesão do músculo cardíaco ou miocardite caracteriza-se por uma desordem inflamatória causada predominantemente por vírus. A COVID-19 é uma infecção respiratória aguda causada pelo vírus SARS-CoV-2, potencialmente grave, de elevada transmissibilidade e distribuição global, com seu surgimento primário na cidade de Wuhan, província de Hubei, China no ano de 2019. Atualmente, existem diversos estudos a respeito da miocardite causada pelo SARS-CoV-2 em pacientes com COVID-19, que levaram a Insuficiência Cardiaca com Fração de Ejeção reduzida. A infecção por SARS-CoV-2 pode causar lesões cardíacas, sendo possível que o comprometimento da função cardíaca não se limite aos primeiros dias do quadro infeccioso.

The relationship between heart failure and infection by the SARS-CoV-2 virus is a very relevant topic and has been widely studied since the beginning of the pandemic. COVID-19 has shown significant impacts on the cardiovascular system, especially in patients with preexisting heart failure. Heart Failure is a complex clinical syndrome of systemic character, of progressive evolution, characterized by the difficulty of the heart muscle in maintaining adequate circulatory output for the functioning of the body. It can result in countless complications and follow-up and appropriate therapy collaborate to minimize them. Heart muscle injury or myocarditis is characterized by an inflammatory disorder caused predominantly by viruses. COVID-19 is an acute respiratory infection caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, potentially serious, of high transmissibility and global distribution, with its primary emergence in the city of Wuhan, Hubei province, China in 2019. Currently, there are several studies regarding myocarditis caused by SARS-CoV-2 in patients with COVID-19, which led to Heart Failure with reduced Ejection Fraction. SARS-CoV-2 infection can cause heart damage, and it is possible that the impairment of cardiac function is not limited to the first days of the infection. Keywords: Heart Failure. SARS-Cov-2 virus.
